The reason is explained in the story. There, the quarreling couple Emma (Fox) and Mark (Eoin Macken) meet in a romantic winter cabin to reconcile. But then Emma’s partner chains himself to her wrist and shoots himself. Shortly thereafter, two killers show up to kill in his name.

While she’s in mortal danger, she’s still lugging around her marital baggage. A rubber doll could have been used during the shoot, but nothing there. Fox dragged a real man behind him as revealed by Yahoo Entertainment.
This was a real, naked man. He was chained to me. We then put it on the wedding dress so I could even pull it off. I’ve never had to work with a grown man’s body weight. I did that every day. All day. At first I thought this was a great workout. But in the end I was completely exhausted.
Apparently the hardships were worth it. The film was critically well received, earning a 90% rating on aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes. The New York Times describes him as “exciting cat and mouse game“, in which Fox one “pure, malignant magnetism” radiates. No wonder, with an estimated 100 kilos of live weight on the arm.
