At the beginning of each film year, the blockbusters from the big studios are usually already announced. For example, we have known for months how many Marvel and DC films will hit the big screen in 2024. Disney still did magic last night completely surprising a new fantasy adventure out of the hat.
We’re talking about Moana 2, the sequel to the 2016 animated film Moana. In it, Dwayne Johnson lends his voice to it Demigod Maui his voice and meets the title character and heroine voiced by Auli’i Cravalho. Now the two return to the Polynesian island of Motonui for a new adventure.

First teaser for Moana 2: Dwayne Johnson returns to the cinema this year as the demigod Maui
As Variety reports, the sequel begins with Moana receiving a mysterious call from her procedures and then settling on one dangerous journey into the vastness of Oceania embarks. She is accompanied by Maui and a group of new seafaring characters.
We don’t learn too much of the new story in the 17-second video. The pictures look stunning once again. The first part was already convincing fantastic animations, which really made you want to plunge into the adventure with the characters. The first scene from the sequel is also strong.
Moana and Co. find themselves on a raft on a starry night while they… bluish glowing whale happened. This looks like the perfect mix of Avatar: The Way of Water and Life of Pi: Shipwrecked Tiger. The new film was directed by David Derrick Jr., who served as a storyboard artist on the previous film.
