Rafael Nadal’s grip has improved this week. Pedro Cachin asked for Nadal’s shirt after the match.
A tennis legend Rafael Nadal will probably play the last season of his career. The 22-time Grand Slam tournament winner has given strong indications in that direction. That’s why every tournament for the Spaniard is treated as a farewell in that competition.
Suffering from injuries, Nadal returned to the court a couple of weeks ago in Barcelona, where he lost in the second round to Australia, who was ranked 11th in the world to Alex de Minaur.
Nadal’s mass court season now continues at the Masters tournament in Madrid. Progress has been made, because now he beat de Minaur and has already advanced to the fourth round.
In the third round, Nadal beat the Argentine ranked 91st in the world by Pedro Cachin 6–1, 6–7, 6–3. After the match, a rare moment was seen during the handshakes.
– This is the fulfillment of my dreams. I’m not sure what the protocol is, but can I ask you for a shirt, Cachin asked.
Nadal has been the idol of many younger players. They have watched the Spaniard’s victories and championships. There have been incredible numbers of them, especially on mass courts, an unimaginable 14 times even at the French Open.
For Cachin, meeting Nadal in perhaps the last possible moments was a unique experience, so he asked for Nadal’s shirt in the usual football way.
Nadal did not take off his shirt, but went to get Cachin’s shirt from the bench.
