Medvedev to the semi-finals after a fierce clash

The quarter-finals were edged above all by the hot and humid climate. It was over 30 degrees in New York – which was noticeable on the players.

— It was brutal. The only good thing I can see in these conditions is that both suffer. It was tough for both of us, Medvedev said in the victory interview and continued:

— It went up and down. But that’s normal. By the end of the first set, I could barely see the ball anymore. We were tired all the time. It was a very tough victory.

Also in this summer’s Wimbledon, Medvedev made it to the semi-finals. That time it was a respass after a loss against Carlos Alcaraz. Medvedev may face the Spaniard again in the upcoming semi-finals if Alcaraz succeeds in defeating the German Alexander Zverev later tonight, Swedish time.
