The first Christian meditation application, downloaded more than 175,000 times since its launch in 2021, is developing with a fundraising of 500,000 euros. Meditations are even offered for children!
Since the confinements in 2020 and 2021, the French are leaning more and more on podcasts as well as on apps of meditation, to relax, take time to refocus on yourself and concentrate. And among a wide choice of applications of this type, no French application relied on the Christian tradition of meditation and contemplation, while in the United States, apps on this theme are multiplying. According to an Ifop poll carried out in September 2022, “while more than 30% of French people call themselves Christians and believers, and that 44% of the baptized take a “non-religious meditation time, there is reason to be surprised“, explains Thomas Delenda, president and co-founder of meditation with his wife Joan. This is the reason why, as soon as the confinement ended, the couple founded the first christian meditation app, meditationa kind of “Little Christian Bamboo”.
What does the Meditatio Christian app offer?

Among the meditations available, it is possible to listen to audios on the following themes: finding peace, sleeping well, cultivating gratitude, living in the present moment, managing stress, taking an inner path, breathing and calming one’s thoughts. ..
For Jeanne Delenda, co-founder and Director of Content, it is necessary to to discover the rich Christian tradition of meditation while changing the image that users can have of it. “If you talk to people about meditation, most have in mind the image of the Buddhist monk. However, the Christian tradition is rich in a centuries-old practice of various forms of meditation, which comes in two main directions: meditation on the Word of God and silent prayer.” she clarifies. “These practices have their sources in Jewish tradition, in the Bible, among the Fathers of the desert, and within the great monastic and religious orders, in particular in the family of the Benedictines, and the Carmelites.“.
