VIANEN – There they are, shining in the showcase light. A total of 486 silver and 12 gold coins. For hundreds of years they were hidden in the bottom of what is now the newest village in the Netherlands: Hoef en Haag. It turns out to be a unique find from the Middle Ages, which can be seen from today in the Vianen Municipal Museum. “When you see those coins, you think: Vianen was the epicenter of Europe then.”
