An incident occurred on Thursday in the Swedish Parliament’s debate on Palestine, when someone threw the foreign minister Maria Malmer Stenergardia with a bag of tomatoes, says Aftonbladet newspaper.
At first, people from the audience section started shouting. After that, someone threw a bag of tomatoes at Stenergard. According to witnesses, the tomatoes fell a couple of rows behind the foreign minister. The minister left the place and the discussion was temporarily interrupted.
Expressen magazine the throwers are pro-Palestinian activists. According to the newspaper, three people have been arrested.
Prime minister Ulf Kristersson told Aftonbladet that he expects the matter to be thoroughly investigated.
