The FFR has just announced that Medhi Narjissi has gone missing in South Africa.
The French Rugby Federation is very concerned. Medhi Narjissi, a player from Stade Toulousain, is missing in South Africa, the FFR announced in a press release. Currently in the country of the Springboks to play the International Series with the French men’s under-18 team, he was swept away by a wave, while he and his teammates were coming out of a swim by the sea, at the Cape of Good Hope.
The Cape of Good Hope is located on the Cape Peninsula, the capital in the south of the country, and is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean, where the player disappeared. According to the Federation, boats and helicopters have been mobilized by local authorities to try to find the young man.
Aged 17, Medhi Narjissi was trained at SU Agen, a club in which his father Jalil Narjissi forged a legend by wearing the sky and white jersey for 12 years. A three-quarter center, he has been playing in the Espoir team of Stade Toulousain since the summer of 2022 after being crowned French champion in cadet Gaudermen with the SUA during the 2021-2022 season.
The French under-18 team is in South Africa for a tournament where it will face South Africa on August 12, then England on August 16 and finally Georgia on August 20.
