On February 10, the American hamburger chain opened its doors to its first Swedish restaurant in Sweden in Stockholm.
The reactions have been many and several customers are upset about prices, something that News24 reported on earlier.
It costs a bacon cheeseburger on five guys
A “bacon cheeseburger” at the chain costs SEK 179 and a large french fries costs SEK 99. A lunch without a drink can thus go for SEK 278, something the customers think is far too much considering that it is a fast food restaurant.
In social media you can read comments such as:
“Fast food and those prices”.
“Never in life with this award”.
“Where they take 100 bucks for a large french fries?”
“Thanks but no thanks, overpric Deluxe”.

But now the meat chef wants Johan Jureskog nuance the criticism. He does not believe that prices are taken out of nothing.
– What people generally have to understand when it comes to meat is that it is not possible to push prices as much and be able to give the animals good conditions. Then there are other things that can record in the price such as licensing costs to run an Five Guys restaurant. They have well calculated what they need to pay, says Johan Jureskog to The Economy.

Jureskog about Five Guys Pommes Fries: “Pretty much money”
At the same time, he reacts quite strongly once he learned what their peanut -fried french fries actually costs.
– It’s pretty much money. But at the same time maybe it is some super quality, I do not know, he told the channel.
A goal with soft drinks goes for about SEK 250 on Five Guys, which causes Jureskog to put the quality in question.
– Then I wonder what it is for quality. Had I been a customer, for example, I would have wanted to know how many grams of meat it is and where the meat comes from, what it is I simply pay for, he says to The Economy.
