The escapade of Kylian Mbappé in Sweden last Thursday continues to make people talk. The Frenchman made a brief visit to the Nordic country, to take advantage of his free time while he was missing the French team gathering. Enough to provoke the ire of Blues supporters, already annoyed at having seen him play with Real Madrid a few days earlier. Now a rape investigation has been opened in the hotel where the attacker was staying with his friends after their nightclub trip. The hotel where the incident allegedly took place was searched by the Swedish police after a complaint was filed. But no information regarding the identity of the complainant has filtered out.
If the question of a link between Kylian Mbappé and the rape investigation arose yesterday, the Swedish press provided initial answers. The investigation was only launched on Saturday, following a report collected by the police from the alleged victim. The newspaper Aftonbladetwho had already broadcast the photos of the player in the streets of Stockholm last Thursday, claims to have wanted to contact the representatives of the French player.
An evening that leaves a mark
While Mbappé published a message of support to his partners before the France Israel kick-off on Thursday October 10 (“Good match”), the Frenchman was therefore in Sweden and not resting or receiving treatment. The newspaper Aftonbladet published several photos of Mbappé, masked and wearing a cap, in the streets of the Swedish capital, accompanied by relatives, including Nordi Mukiele, his former partner at PSG. The person claiming to have been a victim of rape filed a complaint on Saturday, October 12 with a police department. The Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet claims to have read the document. The facts she denounces allegedly took place in the hotel in downtown Stockholm where Kylian Mbappé and his team were staying on the night of October 10 to 11. This person appeared at a hospital in the Swedish capital to have possible physical injuries or psychological trauma caused by the rape she suffered. She would have been interviewed by the police the next day before filing a complaint. Apart from this information on the victim’s supposed journey, no details on the identity of the victim have yet filtered out.
