1. Trijn van Leemput (1530-1607) resistance heroine from the Eighty Years’ War, instigated the demolition of the forced castle Vredenburg
2. Mechtelt van Lichtenberg toe Boecop (1520 – 1598) one of the few recognized painters from the 16th century
3. Anna Maria van Schurman (1607 – 1678) the first female student; also linguist, artist, theologian, humanist and poet
4. Petronella Moens (1762-1843) acclaimed critic, poet, novelist, politically engaged feminist
5. Truus Schröder (1889 – 1985) client, co-designer and resident of the Rietveld-Schröder House
6. Truus van Lier (1921 – 1943) student and resistance heroine WWII, also girl next door to Truus Schröder
