Mayor Dijksma: ‘Addicts in Lepelenburg intimidate children’

Mayor Dijksma Addicts in Lepelenburg intimidate children

The mayor is responding to questions from councilor Tess Meerding (VVD). She is concerned about the situation at Lepelenburg. Dijksma indicated during question time that the new policy, which bans the use of hard drugs in the city, is paying off. “Since August 1, when the ban was introduced, we have seen that the influx of users and dealers from outside the city has decreased enormously,” the mayor said. She indicated that it was expected that part of the group would move to other places. According to her, they are now in the Griftpark, on the Wittevrouwenkade, on the Lepelenburg, on the Singel and in the streets around these locations.
