As electricity prices are predicted to reach record high levels this winter, many smaller grocery stores in rural areas will find it increasingly difficult financially.
And Svensk Handel warns that several smaller players may have to close again. Something that the country store in the village of Tannåker will do already at the turn of the year.
– We expect price increases of three to five times, and we can’t handle that, says shop owner Sara Sturesson to TV4 Nyheterna.
