The swarm ofshooting Stars des Pégasides is active from July 7 to 13. Its name comes from the constellation to which he is close, the pegasus constellation.

The shooting stars coming from this swarm are not very bright, but very fast. Indeed, they streak the sky at the speed 70 km/s, making it one of the fastest known swarms.

To observe the Pegasids, look for the constellation Pegasus above the southern horizon, around 2:30 UT. The shooting stars seem to come from the western part of the constellation. With an hourly rate of 5, you will have to be patient! The absence of the Moon will make you enjoy a very dark night.
