But there was a time when 18-year-old Maximilian, unlike his father, hated football. During the national team’s interview, he revealed that he hated football until he was eleven years old. In addition, he said that football during his childhood was the worst thing there was, something The soccer channel reported on.
– Everything was just wrong, I hated it. I was compared to my dad and it was just wrong. But then I found the love for the sport. One day it just clicked, Maximilian Ibrahimovic said.
With one of the world’s best strikers as a father, it is perhaps easy to believe that Zlatan Ibrahimovic was also the son’s idol, at least on the football field. But that has not been the case for Maximilian.
He reveals that the favorite players are three completely different players.
– I love Neymar, Rafael Leão and Ronaldinho. I like Leão. I get very starstruck when I see him but I don’t know him personally. We have trained together. The first time, it was like walking into a candy store when you saw him.
