Mayor Sharon Dijksma called the destruction ‘sad’. In the question time of the Utrecht council, she said that it is not known who the perpetrators are. One table is known to have been vandalized during the weekend of 5 and 6 June. This is not known about the other table. It’s not the first time things go wrong in the park, vandalism is more frequent, sometimes unintentionally. For example, barbecues were previously held on the tables.
