Mercedes George Russell has been elevated to pole position for the F1 race in Qatar late on Saturday after the judges ordered the four-time world champion For Max Verstappen one square penalty.
The Red Bull driver was deemed to have illegally obstructed Russell during qualifying.
Verstappen, who had beaten Russell in qualifying by 0.055 seconds, was penalized for driving unnecessarily slowly and obstructing a rival.
The Dutchman, who had already sealed the world championship, had surprisingly only finished eighth in the sprint race on Saturday.
