Max Verstappen extended his World Championship lead with a sprint

Dutchman Max Verstappen, who is aiming for the fourth consecutive Formula 1 world championship, captured his World Championship lead with a sprint victory at the US GP on Saturday.

Started from pole Max Verstappen brought the Red Bull team’s car to the finish line in Austin, Texas just under four seconds ahead of the Spanish driver of the Ferrari team Carlos Sainz.

British driver of the McLaren team Lando Norris was third and Monaco Charles Leclerc Ferrari fourth.

British Mercedes drivers George Russell and Lewis Hamilton completed the top six.

The cars of the Sauber team did not reach a competitive pace. Valtteri Bottas came last in the race.

Verstappen, who won all the sprints of the season, leads the World Series by 54 points to Norris.
