Max Hamburger breaks the law – wanted to help his customers

Max Hamburger breaks the law wanted to help his

It’s not the first time that Max’s hamburgers break the law. The Swedish restaurant chain broke the law three years ago by putting up advertising signs.

– It is first and foremost the traffic law that you are breaking, says Jennie Adolfssonbuilding inspector at Vetlanda municipality, to Vetlanda-Posten.

Why is it called MAX? Now Curt Bergfor’s sons reveal the truth

Three years ago, the restaurant in Vetlanda broke the road law by placing signs pointing the way to Max. Then it was the municipality itself that had to remove some of the signs, while Max Hamburger was only content to take down some of the signs.

But now Vetlanda municipality has once again had problems with the restaurant. If Max had asked for permission, the restaurant could have placed signs within 50 meters of the restaurant. But neither in 2021 nor in 2024 did they apply for permission from the county administrative board.

– We have communicated with them that they must introduce some form of routine so this will not repeat itself, Adolfsson tells Vetlanda-Posten.

And Max themselves? They just wanted to help their customers find the right one.

In an email reply to Vetlanda-Posten, Max writes press contact Helena Stenqvist that road signs are important.

“Road signs are an important way for MAX to help our guests find their way to our restaurants. MAX always wants to do the right thing, we removed the relevant signs within the time frame after we received the notification from the municipality.”
