Hollywood is used to the constant cameras and responds with a professional smile. Videos of truly emotional moments between megastars are rare. However, there was such a rarity between Tom Cruise and Steven Spielberg, who thanked the actor for saving the cinema. Featuring Top Gun: Maverick.

The scene took place at a luncheon for the upcoming Academy Awards nominees. Spielberg approached Cruise and said:

You saved Hollywood’s butt and maybe also that of the cinema evaluation. Seriously, Top Gun 2 could have saved the entire cinema industry.

According to Variety, the video was originally filmed by director Kartiki Gonsalves (The Elephant Whisperers), who was also a guest at the event. Cruise is visibly carried away to be showered with so many thanks by the director legend.
