When IFK Göteborg hosts Häcken in the Football Allsvenskan on Sunday, the club will thank Mattias Bjärsmyr, who has now chosen to end his career.
“I came here to Gothenburg and Kamratgården in 2005. And if someone told me then that I would get to experience everything I have done during these years – then I probably wouldn’t believe it,” he says in a comment on “Blåvitt’s” website .
Bjärsmyr has played in IFK Göteborg in three rounds and in total there have been 463 games in the “Blåvitt” shirt.
“I want to take the opportunity to thank all the players, managers and members of the association I have met in everything from my parent club Hestra to those in IFK Göteborg, Rosenborg, Panathinaikos and Sivasspor – to name a few. I have won the league in three of the clubs and experienced great things in all these places”.
From his time with IFK Göteborg, the centre-back brings home a SM gold and four cup golds.
