Mats Knutson on the Social Democrats’ high opinion figures: “A significant part will melt away”

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

It is not the first time that the Social Democrats have high voter support in opposition. During Mona Sahlin’s time, for example, the party was at 43.7 percent in an opinion poll from Novus (in March 2008).

Mats Knutson points out that high trust figures are not an obvious recipe for success.

– It is clear that it is great fun to have 38 percent. It strengthens the party leader and makes for a good atmosphere in the party, but at the same time all intelligent social democrats know that it is because you do not have government power and that it is because you are in the opposition, says Mats Knutson in Politikbyrån.
