The Paris Olympics will not see anyone playing golf on the LPGA tour Matilda Castrenia, who represented Finland at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. Castren was unable to improve her positions in the Olympic rankings of the sport, as she was eliminated in the LPGA Tour tournament in Michigan after two rounds.

The website Golfpiste.com first reported about the failure of Castren’s Olympic dream, who finished 18th in Tokyo.

Castren has been able to play the full four rounds in just two events on the most prestigious women’s tour. Those playing on the European tour have risen ahead of Castren in the women’s ranking Noora Komulainen and Ursula Wikström, who are stuck in place for their second Olympics. They were also involved in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro, where golf returned as an Olympic sport.

On the women’s side, golf’s Paris Olympic rankings close on June 24, but Castren will not qualify for next week’s LPGA Championship. The men’s ranking closes already on Monday, and Sami Välimäki the competition place is certain.
