River experts from Rijkswaterstaat have used complicated calculations to ensure that extra water can be retained on the Lower Rhine between Driel and Amerongen in the coming days. This calculation means that some more water is available for the dried-out area around the rivers and additional restrictions for shipping are not yet necessary. River expert Sander Engelen of the service calls it “super” that it was successful.
