Örebro has had no effect on the change of coach after Johan Hedberg was fired and Niklas Eriksson took the step back down into the booth.
On Saturday, the crisis team fell away against Växjö and it was with clear numbers. The match ended 4-0 and Örebro now has just one win in its last six matches.
At 4-0 after two periods played, Christopher Mastomäki put words to Örebro’s crisis.
– We go here to Växjö and Vida Arena to win. What happened before? Screw it, throw it in the trash, drag it to hell. We have to play here and now and have to play to win the next game. We talk and talk, we have decided to turn this around but right now it doesn’t look good enough, said the Örebo forward to TV4.
Niklas Eriksson on the situation in Örebro:
– It’s uphill. You have two choices every day when you come to work. It’s either fight or flight, and we’ve said we’re going to fight. It’s probably not going to happen overnight, it’s going to take a while before we’re back to where we want to be as a team.
For Växjö, the victory meant that they keep their league lead after Färjestad temporarily took it over earlier on Saturday.
