On Sunday morning, the police state that they have arrested the man in his late 30s who escaped from Hustadsfängelset on Christmas Eve, writes VG.
He has been chased by police since the Christmas holiday.
– The police patrol followed tracks in the snow over a longer distance that led to an uninhabited house in Hustad. There we got in touch with him and he capitulated without any drama, says Leif Arne Mork to VG.
The man is suspected of having committed several burglaries since he escaped.
Several people that VG has spoken to say that they believe they have been visited by the “Master Thief”.
– When we entered the house smelled of barns. That was the first thing we reacted to, says Ingunn Løkø to the newspaper.
She visited her brother’s house to check on something when she found a quilt, pillow, tea boxes and pizza boxes in the basement. The freezer was empty. She also found what looked like a beard in the toilet bowl.
– Then we heard noises upstairs. My son sat outside in the car and waited, she says.
