Massage parlors are reported for pimping – major effort against sex trafficking in Western Sweden

During the week, the police carried out a major operation with a focus on prostitution and human trafficking. During the operation, the police raided around ten massage parlors, mainly in the Gothenburg area.

The raids resulted in around ten police reports on suspected pimping.

– This week’s effort shows that anyone who mediates or buys sexual services in Western Sweden can never feel safe but risks being caught and prosecuted, says Stefan Adamsson, the police’s coordinator for human trafficking in the Western region, in a press release.

The police operation was carried out in collaboration with the Tax Agency, the City of Gothenburg, the Work Environment Agency and the Equality Authority.
