The toll from the bus accident in Brazil is getting heavier. The number of people who lost their lives in the accident in which a passenger bus and a truck collided in the state of Minas Gerais increased to 38.
THE WOUNDED WERE TAKEN TO HOSPITALS
Minas Gerais fire department reported that 13 people on the 45-passenger bus were taken to hospitals near the city of Teofilo Otoni.
AN INVESTIGATION HAS BEEN STARTED INTO THE ACCIDENT
Authorities said all victims were removed from the scene and the cause of the accident will be determined through an investigation.
FULL MOBILIZATION ORDER WAS GIVEN
In his statement on his social media account, Minas Gerais Governor Romeu Zema stated that he ordered the Minas Gerais government for “full mobilization” to help the victims. “We are trying to ensure that the families of those killed in the accident are supported to face this tragedy in the most humane way possible, especially since it occurred just before Christmas,” Zema said.
