In Switzerland, 5 people from a French family committed suicide by jumping from their seventh-floor flat in a row. Only a 15-year-old boy survived the tragic event, but he is now in a coma and is in stable condition.
Local police are still investigating the details of the tragic incident. Vaud district police reported that according to the findings, there was no third party intervention and all the victims jumped from the balcony one after the other. The 40-year-old man, his 41-year-old wife and her twin sister, the couple’s 8-year-old daughter and a 15-year-old survivor, jumped from the balcony of their 20-metre high apartment. The cops said they are currently working on the mass suicide theory.
IT WAS A DISTINGUISHED FAMILY
It has been claimed that father Eric David grew up in a wealthy area of Marseille and even attended one of the most prestigious schools in France, the Ecole Polytechnique. Twin sisters Nasrine and Narjisse Feraoun were educated at Lycee Henri-IV in Paris and grew up in a distinguished family of five children. The twin brothers, one a dentist and the other an ophthalmologist, were also descendants of the Algerian novelist Mouloud Feraoun.
THEY DID NOT OPEN THE DOOR
On the day of the incident, two officers knocked on the door of the apartment at 06:15 local time to talk to the father about his request for his son to be homeschooled. But after a voice asking who was at the door, they got no further response. The officers who could not enter the apartment went out.
Then, less than an hour later, all five jumped off the balcony within five minutes. No signs of struggle were found, apparently they all jumped on their own accord. A ladder was also found on the balcony that they used to jump.
THERE WERE NO WARNING SIGNS
Police said: “Before or during the events, no eyewitnesses heard the slightest noise or crying coming from the flat, including the two police officers who were present at the scene from 06:15 and those who passed by the bottom of the building. It shows no warning signs that the event is about to happen.”
THEY HAVE NO CONNECTION WITH THE OUTSIDE WORLD
It was stated that since the start of the pandemic, the family has become more and more interested in conspiracy and survival theories. The family lived almost completely self-sufficient, disconnected from the outside world. They had accumulated a food stock that took up most of their habitat.
Only the mother’s twin sister was working outside the home. Neither the mother nor the eight-year-old child was registered with the local authorities. The police added that the evidence showed that the family feared that the authorities would interfere in their lives.
