According to the newspaper, the youngest victim is eight years old. It is still unclear how seriously injured they are.
Police were called to a water playground in a park, in the Detroit suburb of Rochester Hills, just after 5 p.m. local time.
28 shots were fired, according to Michael Bouchard, who states that the shooter drove to the scene in a car that he then got out of before firing into the playground.
– It seems very random. No connection to the victims, says Michael Bouchard, reports BNO News.
“The location remains an active crime scene and we have a suspect in custody nearby, but we ask that people stay away from the area. We have several injured victims,” writes the Oakland Sheriff’s Office on its Facebook page.
