The road is completely closed in the northbound direction.
– The road will be closed for quite a while, says Anders Helmborn at the rescue service in Greater Gothenburg, to TV4 Nyheterna.
There have been long queues of cars on the road which have caused consequential accidents.
Three people are said to have been taken to hospital with unclear injuries.
