A 29-year-old masked man was arrested and charged with robbery Tuesday morning after receiving cash from a Bank of Montreal branch after slipping the teller a note.
Chatham-Kent police responded to a call at 10:37 am from the Bank of Montreal branch on St. Clair Street.
Police were told the accused walked into the bank wearing a black medical mask and slipped the teller a note to “give him all the money”.
Police said a sum of cash was exchanged, and the man left the branch.
A description was provided to officers as they were leaving the area, and the accused to found a short distance away and arrested.
He was charged with robbery and taken to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
