A total of ten wolves have been shot since the license hunt began on Thursday.
In Värmland, masked activists appeared in cars – which caused the police to move out.
– They came in robber hats and sunglasses, says Anders Olsson, press officer at the Värmland Hunters’ Association.
In Västmanland’s Kesberget, the first wolf in this year’s license hunt was killed on Thursday morning. Later in the day, another nine were shot, which means that ten out of a total of 30 assigned wolves have been killed in the country.
In the Salungenreviret in Värmland, it was upwards of 17 degrees cold when the hunting teams set out. Out in the woods, a 33 kilo bitch was shot, but the circumstances were disrupted by two groups of activists who showed up in cars.
– They are generally disturbing and people find it unpleasant to have them around, says Anders Olsson.
Nervous squares – played loud music
Police were called to the scene to check the vehicles, but no one was turned away and no crime is suspected.
The activists are said to have driven back and forth on public roads with tinted windows and playing loud music.
– They want to disrupt operations that have been decided by the authorities. We are carrying out something that has been decided, says Anders Olsson.
