The logical sequence is that children and teenagers, schoolchildren, college and high school students, will no longer wear the mask from Monday March 14 in class (…) This is obviously good news (…) We have all wanted this for a long time. This was not possible until now for obvious reasons. It becomes“, explained the Minister of National Education on LCI.

This Thursday, March 3, Prime Minister Jean Castex announced the end of the obligation of the mask indoors, everywhere, including in classrooms from March 14, 2022. Primary schools, colleges and high schools are concerned as well as teachers. “The application of these measures in the school environment is the lifting of the obligation for all students and staff of the first and second degrees”, he declared to the JT of 1 p.m. on TF1. Finally, from March 14, the mask will no longer be compulsory in all places where it was until now, except in public transport and medical establishments. Jean Castex also announced that the vaccination pass will be suspended wherever it applied.

Remember that since the start of the school year, according to zones A, B and C, students no longer have the obligation to wear the mask outdoors, especially in the playground. The students in zone C are therefore back to school this Monday, March 7, without a mask, except for the moment indoors. With the transition to level 2 of the health protocol at school, students can also practice indoor physical and sporting activities without wearing a mask (while respecting a distance: contact sports are therefore not authorized without a mask). On February 11, the Ministry of National Education had already announced a reduction of the health protocol in schools with the transition from level 3 to level 2 for primary schools.

Who should wear the mask at school?
