MASA Festival in Ivory Coast storytelling theater and puppets

For this third program recorded on the occasion of the twelfth edition of MASA (Abidjan Market for Performing Arts), theater is honored with four artists whose plays deal with very current themes.

– Abdon Fortuné Koumbhaactor, storyteller and director ofSpace Tine, in Dolisie, the third city of Congo-Brazzaville). Also director of the Dol’En Scène Festival. His show, Rhapsodie, deals with the theme of migration.

– Yacouba Magassoubaartistic director of the NAMA company (from Mali) a troupe of puppeteers for the show Pilgrim Cat, a tale in French and Bambara that highlights the tradition of orality to the rhythm of the balafon and the djembe. Also with Salif Berthe known as the “bird-storyteller”, author and storyteller of the Nama company’s show Le Chatpilgrim.

– Fatou Sy, Ivorian author. In her show “The Neverending Story”, it is about social violence and the suffering of women who have been victims of sexual violence.
