Marvel is nothing more than a factory for bodybuilders. At least that’s what it seems when Scarlett Johansson and Co. talk about the hardships their MCU roles demanded of them. Ant-Man actor Paul Rudd is no exception. He trained so hard and ate so little, that he was even happy about mineral water.
Paul Rudd’s Marvel exploits have been ruined by Chris Hemsworth
On the Off Menu podcast, Rudd revealed:
When I was training for the Ant-Man movie, I put myself on a very strict diet. My reward was sparkling water. That’s how terrible my diet was! I said to myself, “Now I can treat myself to sparkling water, I deserve it.”

The tough MCU training is intended to protect actors from injuries in physically demanding scenes, but also to promote presentable muscles for revealing moments. Rudd subjected himself to the tough requirements until he met him Fitness fanatic Chris Hemsworth (Thor) lost all hope:
You’re standing next to me [Chris Hemsworth] and think to yourself, “Why am I killing myself when someone like him can exist? I can never achieve a look like that. I tried to train and it didn’t work.
Chris Hemsworth says he overdid his Marvel training. But even without excessive ambitions, the MCU requirements are among the toughest that Hollywood actors can expect. Paul Rudd may be happy that no other Ant-Man film is planned yet.
