Few Hollywood stories in recent years have been as inspiring as that of Hawkeye actor Jeremy Renner. To save his nephew from being run over by a snow plow, the Marvel star put himself in danger, broke 38 bones (including his skull, from which his eye popped out) and almost died.
After a difficult rehabilitation period, Renner was back in front of the camera to shoot the third season of his series Mayor Of Kingstown, which was co-created by Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan. The result is now available online at Paramount+.
Mayor of Kingstown with Jeremy Renner: This is what it’s about – and this is what happens in season 3
Renner plays Mike McLusky in Mayor of Kingstown. As mayor of the fictional town in the US state of Michigan, he and his family have to deal with police, politicians, inmates and guards, because In the otherwise tranquil Kingstown, prisons are the most important industry. The series was inspired by real places where this is the case.

In season 3 Mike tries to keep the peace between the different factions in Kingstown and end a small war after several explosions terrify the citizens. But a former inmate and a Russian drug lord thwart his plans.
Inspiring: Jeremy Renner even did his own stunts for his series
For Renner, filming the third season of Mayor of Kingstown was initially very difficult. He recalled to the Los Angles Times (via Deadline ) how he sometimes had to be treated like a child actor. During The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, he sounded completely different:
It’s a great gift to be tested to your limits, isn’t it? Your physical limits, your spiritual limits, and your emotional limits. I’m not going to have a bad day for the rest of my life. It’s impossible. That’s the gift.
In the hospital, Renner tried to be strong for his daughter so as not to scare her, as he recently revealed on The Kelly Clarkson Show. Back at work, he received a lot of support until he was able to attempt his first stunt again:
At first I told them I couldn’t do it because I wasn’t feeling so well when I came back. I fell asleep in scenes and everyone treated me with a little caution because I needed that too. I had to lean on people for support both physically and emotionally. But over time I became stronger and was able to do a stunt. That was a milestone that gave me hope. Where can I see Mayor of Kingstown in Germany?
The first two seasons of Mayor of Kingstown have long been available to stream on Paramount+. June 3, 2024 The first episode of the third season, entitled Soldier’s Heart, went online. Additional episodes will follow weekly on Mondays.
