When Hope Van Dyne aka The Wasp twisted Evangeline Lilly Marvel superhero Ant-Man and fought against Thanos in Avengers 4: Endgame. Series fans will forever remember her as Kate Austen in Lost and in the Lord of the Rings universe she played the elf Tauriel in the last two Hobbit films. The Canadian has no shortage of impressive roles. Nevertheless, the 44-year-old has now announced that she is retiring from acting.

Evangeline Lilly’s last cinematic appearance was in 2023 in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. What the announced retirement means for her Marvel character Hope Van Dyne is not yet known. The star is currently still in the cast of the drama Happy Life, whose title sounds like a dignified farewell. There she plays a mother who embarks on a journey of self-discovery after her husband’s affair.

All three Ant-Man films as well as the Lost series with Evangeline Lilly are streaming on Disney+. Her Hobbit films are currently on Amazon Prime Video.
