Released more than a month ago, Marvel Rivals is unanimously appreciated by the gaming community. The superhero game has just announced its first season and its next new features.
If there is one game that has stood out in recent months, it is good Marvel Rivals. Published by NetEase, the free-to-play superhero game won over the public from its launch, with connection records skyrocketing. This Tuesday, January 7, the game recorded no fewer than 415,000 players connected simultaneously, an unprecedented number.
Marvel Rivals does not seem ready to lose its momentum, the game having very recently announced the date of its first season, entitled “Eternal Night Falls”. On the program: a new map, new characters, a new battle pass, a range of game modes… Only a few days to wait, with the update scheduled for January 10.
New superheroes join the game
Already counting no less than 33 characters, Marvel Rivals plans to integrate four new faces well known to the public: the Fantastic Four. It will therefore soon be possible to play as Mr. Fantastic, the Invisible Woman, the Human Torch or even the Thing.
Note that season 1 is divided into two halves of six to seven weeks each. The Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Woman characters will be available on January 10, while The Thing and the Human Torch will be released at the end of February.
Maps, game modes and battle pass available
In addition to the characters, Marvel Rivals expands its catalog of cards, with the addition of “Sanctum Sanctorum”, “Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown” as well as “Empire of Eternal Night: Central Park”. The last two playing spaces, which are loosely inspired by New York City, will only be incorporated during the second half of the season.
A new battle pass will also be added, which should be twice as extensive as that of season 0. This could notably contain 10 costumes for the characters, with the “Eternal Night Falls” theme dominated by the colors red and black.
Many new features await players for Friday January 10. As a reminder, the game is free-to-play (i.e. free) and available on PS5, Xbox Series and PC.
