Marvel (finally) formalizes the casting

Marvel finally formalizes the casting

Marvel has finally announced the names of the actors chosen to play “The Fantastic Four” in its next film, which is due to be released in theaters on July 25, 2024.

After months of rumors, Fantastic Four are finally known. And speculations that have been agitating social networks for several months have finally been announced. Marvel took advantage of Valentine’s Day to announce the names of the four actors who will play the quartet of superheroes in a post on X.

As information from Deadline already announced in November, Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us, The Mandalorian, Game of Thrones) was cast as Reed Richards, the franchise’s Mr. Fantastic. He will opposite Vanessa Kirby (The Crown) in the role of Sue Storm (the Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things) will be his brother Johnny Storm (the Human Torch) and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Bear) will play Ben Grimm, aka The Thing.

If we have the names of the superheroes of Fantastic Four, the name of the actor who will play their enemy, Victor von Doom, is not yet known. For now, the film remains unclear: we do not know if the plot will begin when the Fantastic Four gain their power, or later. As a reminder, in the comics, the Fantastic Four are a group of astronauts who gain superpowers when they come into contact with cosmic rays during a space mission.

The film The Fantastic Four will be directed by Matt Shakman, already working on the series Wandavision And Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. The film should be shot in the coming months, for a release announced by Marvel for July 25, 2025.
