The Avengers (not in Deadpool & Wolverine)
As screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick reveal in an interview with IndieWire, there was even bigger ideasNot only would a cameo by Robert Downey Jr. have been possible, the entire Avengers team would have turned Wade down – and thereby triggered a tornado of insults.
Wernick says in the interview:
We haven’t told anyone yet, but there was a version of this scene very, very early on that was not written but imagined, in which all Avengers were in the room. And Wade was rejected and then he took down all the Avengers in a way that only Deadpool can. Only Avengers star Chris Evans appears in Deadpool & Wolverine, but not as Captain America
