Marvel announced one thing too many for Phase 5

Marvel flexed its muscles at Comic-Con in San Diego this year. Not only have all the films and series that await us in Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe been announced. Kevin Feige also shared a glimpse of Phase 6, which is same two new Avengers adventures attends.

As it turns out, there was one announcement too many. When it came to the new series Secret Invasion, there was a name in the cast that had no place there: Regé-Jean Page. The Bridgerton star – who is currently starring in the Netflix movie The Gray Man – was said to have “locked up” according to a press release supposedly its MCU debut deliver

Marvel corrects mistake: Regé-Jean Page is not part of the Secret Invasion cast after all

As reported by TV Line, Marvel has now corrected the error. page does not belong to the cast by Secret Invasion. That he’ll show up in the MCU one day anyway, we shouldn’t be exclusive. Last but not least, he was rumored for a time as Adam Warlock in Guardians of the Galaxy 3. The character is now played by Will Poulter.

Even without Page, Secret Invasion some big names to offer. The series is led by Cobie Smulders and Samuel L. Jackson. While Smulders returns as Maria Hill, Jackson reprises the role of Nick Fury. Also included is Ben Mendelsohn, who played the Skrull Talos in Captain Marvel. The three biggest Marvel additions are Emilia Clarke, Kingsley Ben-Adir and Olivia Colman.

When does Secret Invasion start on Disney+?

A concrete start date does not yet exist. But we know the period: Secret Invasion starts in Spring 2023 on Disney+. This makes it the first series in Phase 5 and the second project overall after Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
