Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra is being developed using Unreal Engine 5. Announced at Epic’s State of Unreal presentation at the 2024 Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, the game includes Azzuri, T’Challa’s grandfather, Captain America, also known as Steve Rogers, Nanali, a Wakandan spy in occupied Paris, and a US soldier. It will feature four playable characters, including Gabriel Jones.
Disney’s $1.5 billion investment in Epic Games and its statements about the huge Disney universe to be developed within Fortnite indicate that this new game may be just the beginning. As Disney CEO Bob Iger emphasized, this new universe will expand to include Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, Avatar and more.
