Marua’s murder about to be solved – GW: “Everyone knew”

2002 was murdered Marua Ajouz and nu is the ex-boyfriend, who is in his 40s, and is accused of the murder.
Coincidence and new testimonies are what led to the solution.
Everyone knew who did it, but he still walked around free, says Leif GW Persson.

Then 18-year-old Marua Ajouz was murdered in December 2002. Right from the start, the boyfriend, who was 21 at the time, was suspected, but it was later written off. Marua Ajouz is believed to have been shot dead on his sofa. But both the couch and her body were gone.

– Right from the beginning, you are probably quite clear about what this is about, but what makes it worse is that it takes a week before a report is received. And that’s because people think she’s gone voluntarily, says criminologist and author Leif GW Persson.

The following year Marua Ajouz’s skull is found by mushroom pickers. The police can establish that it is her and then you know for sure that she is dead.

Found the body when building a villa

Then the investigation is on hold until 14 years later the remains of the body are found in connection with digging a foundation for a villa. It restarted the investigation. Between then and now, new testimonies have also come in, which has led to the boyfriend now being charged.

– There are many people who in one way or another have had knowledge of what happened. They have exchanged confidences and now they are called as witnesses. So things look pretty dark for this cuckoo being prosecuted,” GW says.

Leif GW Persson believes that the man, who is now in his 40s, will be convicted and receive life imprisonment, something that is important to the relatives.

“Everyone has known”

– Especially in this case. Everyone knew who did it, but he still walked around there free.

It’s rare that cases this old are solved. In this case, it was chance that was decisive, GW believes, that they chose to build the villa on the exact spot where the body was.

– But the police in Skåne have really put more than two straws in the crosshairs to get this case in order. The longer time passes, the more difficult it becomes. It is extremely rare to solve such old crimes. It’s some percentage. The record stands for about 25 years.
