On August 31, 2024, the Norwegian princess said Martha Louise and the Shaman of Scandal Durek Verrett yes to each other. Their much talked about wedding took place at the Union Hotel in the Norwegian village of Geiranger. Several well-known profiles and royalty were present. Both the crown princess came from Sweden Victoria with her prince Daniel, but also prince Carl Philip and the princess Sophia.

Before the wedding, columns were written about Durek’s dark past – but also about the scandals he got himself into again and again. Controversy has piled up around Durek. Among other things, he has said that children can “attract cancer because they are unlucky” and during the Corona pandemic he sold a medallion that he believed protected against the disease. In several countries, one of Durek’s books has been stopped precisely because it has not been ethically justifiable for the book publishers to publish the book.
– When I read through the Norwegian translation and found the sections dealing with the causes of cancer and treatment, it became impossible to publish the book, said the publishing manager Knut Ola Ulvestad to VG.
Märtha Louise to debt collection – owed millions
After Märtha Louise and Durek Verrett’s wedding, perhaps many Norwegians thought that things would calm down a bit around the couple. But that has not been the case. Now Norwegian Se og hör reports that Märtha Louise has ended up with a debt collector – for her lavish wedding.
Several frustrated players from the local business community have been sitting and waiting for payment from Märtha Louise. Payment in default. According to Se og hör, there are invoices for a total of one million kroner.
During this time, Märtha Louise and Durek have, among other things, been on honeymoon in the form of several weeks at a luxury hotel in Turkey. They have also been to Los Angeles to party.

One of the entrepreneurs to whom Märtha Louise owes money tells Se og Hör:
– I must say that we were really looking forward to being part of the celebration, and we prepared well. It is indecent not to do the right thing for yourself. It simply feels as if the princess has run off the bill!, the person told the newspaper.
From Märtha Louise’s side, it is believed that it is simply that some invoices needed to be double-checked, and that there was “no drama” in the whole thing.

At the same time writing See and hear that Märtha Louise is over the top in mortgages and owes the bank a total of SEK 20 million. On December 16, 2024, she took out a new loan of SEK 10 million in the Norwegian Handelsbanken, and as collateral she has left one of her houses in Norway, the newspaper writes.
