Sprint or distance – it doesn’t matter to Märta Rosenberg. Gold it will be anyway.
Two days after the victory in the sprint in the U23 World Cup, the ski talent celebrated the championship’s second gold medal.
Now she looks at the Olympics in a year.
-It is not impossible, says the 22-year-old.
Märta Rosenberg Won the mass start over 20 kilometers of classic style in Italian Schilpario, a race she dominated and then ended with a powerful jerk in one of the last uphill slopes.
– I’m very happy. I think I felt pretty nice the whole race. Otherwise, I usually get tired after half but now I was cheerful when I looked at the clock. It was very fun, she says in SVT.
Double World Cup gold
The Swede increased the distance, shaken the competitors and went into the goal area with a clear leadership.
– I thought I didn’t want to pull too much. Then I thought I ended up far ahead often, but I felt good, so it went pretty well anyway, says Rosenberg.

Norwegian Eva Ingebrigtsen Made an attempt to get in, but was never really close to threatening Rosenberg.
– I got a little scared at the end, because I thought the others came a little closer. I got a little stressed. Eva was fast performing and in the curves. I was completely exhausted after the hill, but in the small last hill towards goal I got good speed again, says the double gold medalist.
In goal, Ingebrigtsen was distanced by 3.6 seconds. Canadian Liliane Gagnon took the bronze, 8.5 seconds behind Rosenberg.
Dreaming of the Olympics
With the day a year left for the Olympics in Italy, Märta gave a clear message that she wants to join in and be made about a place in the Swedish squad.
– It is not quite impossible. I have to try to think a little about how to try to set myself in there, she tells SVT.
