The Italian Marta Cavalli (FDJ-Nouvelle Aquitaine) won the first women’s edition of the Mont Ventoux Dénivelé Challenge on Tuesday June 14, a cycling race contested over 100 kilometers between Vaison-la-Romaine and the summit of Ventoux. Cavalli, who has already won the Amstel Gold Race and the Flèche Wallonne this season, started alone just over two kilometers from the finish. She beat Germany’s Clara Koppenburg by 41 seconds and France’s Evita Muzik by 53 seconds.
