In Thursday’s episode of Marko & Irma we get to know yet another person from the Lehtosalo family. Marko takes the opportunity to visit his little brother in Umeå, after Marko has played at a gig nearby.
Once there, Marko recalls their upbringing.
– My brother and also my sister mean a lot to me. I grew up with them. Then we argued and argued like all siblings do, but for me it’s my family. There are four of us, all three mean a lot to me, says Marko.
“I was extremely protective of my siblings”
Marko, who is the oldest of the siblings, also remembers how he protected his siblings from turbulent moments at home.
– I was extremely protective of my siblings, there is quite a big age difference between us. If things broke out at home on a weekend, I absolutely tried to get my siblings behind me, away from what happened then, so that they wouldn’t see so much, Marko continues.
Both Marko and mother Irma have talked about what it was like when Marko grew up in a home where there was abuse and violence.
In the player above, you can hear Marko’s story.
