At least 30 people have been killed and dozens injured in an airstrike on a market area south of Sudan’s capital Khartoum. The death toll is expected to rise and local hospitals have appealed for help from healthcare professionals in the area.
A local activist group says that it was military aircraft responsible for the bombing, reports the AFP news agency. AP writes that it is a drone attack.
Fighting has been ongoing in Sudan for several months, mainly between the regular army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
