Tired of hearing about NFTs? Be patient, because it’s not over. During a conference held at SXSW, an annual event that takes place in Austin, Texas, Meta boss Mark Zuckerberg announced that NFTs will be coming to Instagram very soon.
Zuckerberg has indeed confirmed that Meta is working on integrating these virtual collectibles on the platform. Without going into detail on how they would be integrated, he hinted that Instagram users would first have the ability to view NFTs they already have, and then potentially create new ones. .

The arrival of NFTs on Instagram would not be very surprising. Last year, Instagram boss Adam Mosseri already indicated that he was exploring this track. More recently, a Financial Times report indicated that Instagram hopes to integrate NFTs into its Novi cryptocurrency wallet.
But for Zuckerberg, NFTs also have a role to play in the Metaverse. He explains that it might be possible to create clothes for your avatar in the form of NFTs, which would allow them to be used on different platforms.
Instagram is not the first social network to look into integrating NFTs on its platform. Before her, Twitter tried it and unveiled a function a few weeks ago allowing its users to display NFTs they own as a profile picture.
